Publication Ethics Statement

ABDIWANGI Journal is a scientific journal that applies a peer review process. This publication ethics statement describes the ethical responsibilities and conduct of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers. This guideline refers to the Regulation of the Head of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication and internationally recognized publication ethics principles.

Author Responsibilities

1. Reporting Standards

Authors must present the results of community service activities or research objectively, accurately, and transparently, supported by adequate data. Submitted manuscripts must contain complete information and properly acknowledge all sources and references used.

2. Originality and Plagiarism

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are original works and free from plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data manipulation, or inappropriate citation practices. All sources used must be properly acknowledged and cited.

3. Duplicate Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals at the same time is considered unethical and unacceptable. During the review process, authors are not allowed to submit the manuscript to another journal.

4. Authorship

All individuals who have made significant contributions to the preparation of the manuscript and the implementation of the community service activity must be listed as authors. Authors are responsible for agreeing on the order and authorship list before manuscript submission.

5. Errors in Published Articles

If authors discover errors or inaccuracies in their manuscript during the review process or after publication, they must immediately notify the journal editor. The editor will determine the appropriate action, including correction or retraction of the article if necessary.

6. Research Ethics

Research involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data must comply with applicable ethical standards. Authors must provide evidence of ethical approval from relevant institutions or authorized parties when required.

Editor Responsibilities

1. Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for determining which manuscripts are suitable for publication based on scientific quality, relevance, originality, and conformity with the journal's focus and scope. Editorial decisions must be based on academic considerations and must not be influenced by factors unrelated to the scientific quality of the manuscript.

2. Confidentiality

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all information related to submitted manuscripts, including manuscript content and communications during the editorial process. Unpublished information contained in manuscripts must not be used for personal purposes.

3. Fairness and Objectivity

Editors must evaluate each manuscript objectively based on its intellectual content without considering the author's race, gender, religion, ethnic background, nationality, or political views.

Reviewer Responsibilities

1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions by providing scientific evaluations of submitted manuscripts. Every manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document.

2. Confidentiality

Reviewers must not disclose, discuss, or use information contained in manuscripts under review with other parties without permission from the editor.

3. Objectivity and Professionalism

Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and professional evaluations. Comments and suggestions for improvement should be clearly presented with appropriate academic justification.

4. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts if there is any conflict of interest with the authors, institutions, or related parties that may affect the objectivity of the evaluation.

Journal Management Responsibilities

1. Integrity and Transparency

The journal management team is responsible for maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of scientific publications through consistent editorial policies, transparent review processes, and honest communication with authors, reviewers, and readers.

2. Accountable Management System

The journal management team must provide an accountable and transparent editorial management system, including a structured submission system, clear editorial workflow, and accessible journal information for authors, reviewers, and readers.

3. Commercial Neutrality

Editorial decisions must not be influenced by commercial interests. Decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts must be based solely on scientific quality, academic contribution, and relevance to the journal scope.

4. Handling Complaints and Appeals

The journal management team provides a clear, transparent, and fair mechanism for handling complaints or appeals submitted by authors, reviewers, or other parties regarding the editorial process.

Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts submitted to ABDIWANGI Journal will undergo similarity checking using Turnitin before publication. This process aims to ensure originality and prevent plagiarism in scientific publications.
