R-C-W Policy (Retraction, Correction, and Withdrawal)
Policy Statement
ABDIWANGI Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, quality, and reliability of the published scientific record. The journal recognizes that authors have made significant efforts in preparing their manuscripts and that every article has undergone a peer review process before publication.
In certain circumstances, published articles may require correction, retraction, or removal if issues are identified that affect scientific validity, publication ethics, or the integrity of the scholarly record.
All actions related to corrections, clarifications, retractions, or article removal are conducted through a strict procedure to maintain the trust of readers, researchers, academics, and information managers in the journal's published records.
Manuscript Withdrawal (Withdrawal)
Authors are not permitted to withdraw manuscripts that have entered the editorial process without a valid and justifiable reason. Manuscript withdrawal may result in unnecessary use of resources allocated by editors, reviewers, and journal administrators during the evaluation process.
Before submitting a manuscript through the OJS system, authors must agree to all submission requirements and the manuscript submission checklist established by the journal.
Withdrawal policy:
- If an author requests manuscript withdrawal while the manuscript is still under the peer review process, an administrative fee of IDR 500,000 per manuscript may be applied.
- If withdrawal is requested after the manuscript has been accepted for publication, an administrative fee of IDR 750,000 per manuscript may be applied.
- If an accepted or published article as an Article in Press is found to contain issues such as duplicate publication, false authorship claims, plagiarism, data manipulation, or other violations of publication ethics, the article may be withdrawn from the journal website.
- A withdrawn article will be accompanied by an official notice (withdrawal notice), and the withdrawal information will remain recorded in the journal system.
- If authors fail to fulfill administrative obligations related to manuscript withdrawal, the journal may apply temporary restrictions on future submissions according to editorial policy.
Requests for manuscript withdrawal must be submitted through an official letter signed by the corresponding author and the institutional authority, and submitted to the Editor-in-Chief.
Article Retraction (Retraction)
ABDIWANGI Journal may retract a published article under the following circumstances:
- There is a significant scientific error that affects the validity or main conclusions of the article.
- There is evidence that the research data or findings are unreliable due to serious errors, data manipulation, data fabrication, or other unethical practices.
- The article has previously been published elsewhere without appropriate cross-reference, permission, or justification (duplicate publication).
- There are violations of publication ethics, such as plagiarism, unauthorized use of data, or authorship-related issues.
Article retraction procedures:
- Potentially retractable articles will be reported to the Editor.
- The Editor will conduct an evaluation and provide the authors with an opportunity to provide clarification.
- The evaluation results may be discussed with the Ethics Committee or relevant parties to ensure that decisions comply with scientific publication standards.
- The final retraction decision will be communicated to the authors and relevant parties when necessary.
- A retraction statement will be published online and will remain part of the journal's publication record.
Copyright ownership by authors does not automatically grant authors the right to retract an article after publication, as maintaining the integrity of the scientific record is a shared responsibility between authors and publishers.
Article Correction (Correction)
ABDIWANGI Journal may publish corrections when errors are identified in published articles, including:
- Minor errors in publications that affect information accuracy but do not invalidate the overall research findings.
- Errors in the list of authors or contributors, such as omission of eligible authors or inclusion of individuals who do not meet authorship criteria.
Types of article corrections:
- Erratum (Publisher Correction)
A correction issued to address errors originating from the journal's production or publication process. - Corrigendum (Author Correction)
A correction issued to address errors originating from the authors that may affect the publication record. - Addendum
Additional information provided by the authors to clarify, expand, or update certain aspects of the published article.
The decision to issue a correction is made by the Editor, taking into consideration input from reviewers or Editorial Board members when necessary.
Article Removal (Article Removal)
In very limited circumstances, a published article may be removed from the journal platform if:
- The article contains defamatory content.
- The article violates the legal rights of others.
- There is a legal order or strong legal justification requiring removal.
- The continued availability of the article may create serious risks to the public or relevant parties.
In such cases, article metadata, including the title and author information, will be retained, while the article content will be replaced with an official notice explaining the reason for removal.
Article Replacement (Article Replacement)
If a published article presents a serious risk when used or applied, the author may request replacement of the original article with a corrected version.
In such cases, the original article will remain part of the publication record through the retraction procedure, while the replacement article will be published with a notice explaining the relationship between the original and revised versions.
